Frequently Asked Questions

Toy Care & Maintenance

A good toy can last for years if you look after it. Cleaning it properly also protects you from irritation and infection. This guide covers cleaning, storage and lube compatibility for everything we sell.

The Golden Rules

  • Clean before and after every use. Every time, including the first.
  • Use a condom on toys you share or move between body areas. Never go from anal to vaginal use without cleaning or changing the condom.
  • Dry completely before storing. Damp toys breed bacteria.
  • Stop using a toy that feels sore, looks damaged or has changed texture.

Know Your Toy-Type

The type of toy decides how you charge it, how you use it safely and what extra care it needs.

Vibrators & Rechargeable Toys
  • Check the waterproof rating before submerging. If it's splashproof only, wipe it clean.
  • Make sure the toy is completely dry before charging.
  • Use only the charger provided.
  • Charge to about half every few months if you're storing it long term.
  • Use the travel lock so it doesn't switch on in your bag.
  • Take batteries out of replaceable-battery toys before storing them.
Anal Toys
  • Always use a flared base. Anal toys without one can get lost inside the body.
  • Use plenty of lube. The anus doesn't self-lubricate.
  • Use a condom for easier cleanup and better hygiene.
  • Clean thoroughly after every use.

Know Your Material

The material decides how you clean it, which lube you can use and how long it lasts.

Silicon

The most popular body-safe choice. Non-porous, smooth and easy to clean.

  • Clean: Warm water and mild unscented soap or toy cleaner.
  • Lube: Water-based only. Silicone lube breaks down the surface of silicone toys.
  • Store: Keep silicone toys apart. When they touch, they can bond and damage each other.
Plastic

Hard, smooth plastic, common in bullet vibrators and rigid toys.

  • Clean: Warm water and soap, or toy cleaner. Wipe (don't submerge) if it isn't waterproof.
  • Lube: Water-based or silicone-based.
  • Avoid: Boiling and harsh chemicals.
Glass & Metal

Non-porous, easy to sanitise, and good for temperature play.

  • Clean: Warm water and soap, toy cleaner, or diluted isopropyl alcohol.
  • Lube: Water-based or silicone-based.
  • Inspect: Check glass for chips and cracks before every use and bin it if damaged.
  • Temperature play: Warm or cool in water. Never use a microwave or freezer.

Storing Your Toys

  • Store them clean and completely dry.
  • Keep each toy in its own cotton pouch or bag. Avoid airtight plastic, which traps moisture.
  • Keep toys apart so they don't touch, especially silicone and jelly.
  • Choose a cool, dry spot away from sunlight.
  • Keep them somewhere private and out of reach of children and pets.

Cleaning Products

Safe to use

  • Mild unscented soap and warm water
  • Purpose-made toy cleaner or wipes
  • Diluted isopropyl alcohol on non-porous toys (glass, metal, hard plastic)

Avoid

  • Bleach and harsh household cleaners
  • Scented or antibacterial soaps
  • Alcohol on silicone or porous toys

When to Replace a Toy?

Bin it if you notice:

  • A sticky, tacky or powdery surface
  • Cracks, tears, chips or rough spots
  • Discolouration or a smell that won't wash out
  • Reduced power, odd noises or overheating

If a toy has been used with a partner and can't be fully cleaned, replace it.
